SUGGESTIONS
FOR NEIGHBOURS Back
to Monitoring for Construction
1. If have concerns about compliance of a neighbouring development
with approved plans, we suggest you note possible divergence
from the approved DA (noting that these are not the construction
drawings). Dated photographs may be one technique to record
such variations.
2. If you have sufficient justification for believing subsequently
that the construction is not in compliance with the approved
plans, then you should notify Council immediately. They can
request verification survey if they believe a setback or dimension
is not being adhered to
3. Note that you are not legally entitled to enter on your neighbour's
property to take measurements, and indeed that it may be dangerous
to enter a site when construction work is in progress.
